Debating
Debating is Max’s main sport, as it is a sport of the mind rather than the body. He began his debating in grade 6 and progressed through to grade 7, in grade 8 however, Mr Coultan quit, but re-joined in grade 9 and has been debating ever since. His most successful team consisted of Noah Ashton, Melita Wilson, Clancy Smith and himself, as in 2016 they went further than any Sunshine Coast Grammar School team did before in the QDU (Queensland Debating Union) competition, which is one of the most prestigious in the country. His current team, which consists of Noah Ashton, Melita Wilson, Stuart Sutton and himself are enrolled in 3 competitions. An online webcam competition, QDU and the USC (University of the Sunshine Coast) debating competition. They plan to make 2017 their most successful year.
Pool Life Saving
Max competed in the 2006 Queensland Pool Life Saving competition and came home with 2 1st places, 2 2nd places and one 3rd place medals.
Swimming
Max has competed in several school districts swimming carnivals and has made it to regionals in butterfly. He has also achieved age champion twice at his school, and several awards for club nights.
